Information and Terms and Conditions

We are located off the Mossman/Mt Molloy Road, highway 44, in the small town of Julatten. We are not on any public transport routes so you need your own transport to get to us as we cannot do transfers.

We do not allow any day visitors.

Check-in is between 2.00pm and 6.00pm for all guests, unless by prior arrangement. If you are going to arrive after 6.00pm please advise us as we may not be available. If you arrive earlier than 2.00pm you can explore the grounds but your room may not be available. Please do not arrive before midday, 12.00.

Check-out from your room is by 10am. In busy months this is strict due to the high turnover of guests. In the quieter months a slightly later check-out time might be possible by prior arrangement. Once checked out all guests must leave the property by midday, 12.00.

We are at an altitude of 440m and the climate means we have no need for air conditioning. All rooms have pedestal fans and there are overhead fans over the double beds in all units. It can get hot and humid in extreme conditions during the wet season.

We will endeavour to reply to email bookings promptly, however, sometimes emails go astray or maybe our internet connection is down. If you don't hear from us within two days, please send another email or contact us by phone.

Children

Neither the accommodation or the property at Kingfisher Park Birdwatchers Lodge is suitable for children under the age of twelve. Older children with an interest in birdwatching and natural history are welcome, but those not interested may get bored as there are no facilities such as TV or swimming pool.

Other Information

There is a laundry in the amenities block. It has a washing machine (cold wash only), a dryer and a large sink.

Iron and hair dryer are available on request.

Wireless broadband internet is available (small fee applies).

NO PETS are allowed for the sake of the wildlife on the property.

Terms and Conditions

  • All rates are in Australian Dollars and are inclusive of Goods and Services Tax (10% GST)
  • There is a 2 night minimum stay and a 2 night minimum charge for all accommodation.
  • A deposit, equal to the minimum charge of 2 nights stay, is required to secure a booking.
  • The deposit should be paid by bank transfer within 7 days otherwise the reservation may be cancelled.
  • For international bookings we require credit card details to secure a booking.
  • The balance of the booked accommodation is payable by bank transfer to arrive in our account at least 2 days prior to arrival.
  • Any extra payments while you are at the Lodge can be paid for by cash, credit card or bank transfer.
  • Credit cards accepted are MasterCard and Visa (a 1.5% surcharge applies for all card payments). We cannot take American Express.
  • There will be no refund for any remaining nights accommodation of the confirmed booking if guests depart early for any reason.
  • Guests are not to invite other people onto the Lodge grounds or into the accommodation.
  • No smoking is allowed anywhere on the property.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations must be in writing.
  • If a cancellation is made 30 days or more before the day of arrival any money prepaid by bank transfer will be refunded.
  • If a cancellation is made between 29 days and 8 days before the day of arrival 50% of the deposit is non-refundable.
  • If a cancellation is made from 7 days before the day of arrival 100% of the deposit is non-refundable.
  • If a cancellation is made less than 48 hours before the day of arrival or there is a 'no-show' 100% of the booking is payable.
