Birdwatchers Lodge and
enjoy a fabulous
lifestyle?
Where are we?
We are in the
rural community of Julatten
situated 10Km from Mt. Molloy, which has basic facilities, and 1½
hrs from Cairns city and international airport. Major centers of
Mossman (25mins) and Mareeba (40mins) have banking and supermarket
facilities. Port Douglas on the coast is only 40 minutes away.
History and Description:
Kingfisher Park Birdwatchers Lodge was established
in 1991 and since then has become a must-visit destination for birdwatchers
within Australia and around the world. In 2008 Eco-tourism
accreditation was obtained; this is globally recognised and
commits the Lodge to continued sustainable practices and to provide
a nature-based tourism experience. Approximately 95% of guests staying
at the Lodge are either birdwatchers or interested in wildlife or
photography. Its unique situation in the best birdwatching area
in Australia, coupled with accommodation options to suit all levels,
makes this a great birdwatching tourism opportunity for a couple
with a passion for birds and wildlife.
The business has all the required permits
and licences for running the accommodation and a restaurant/cafe
plus a 3MgL water allowance per year, which is pumped from Bushy
Creek and treated before use. The business has comprehensive web
site, blog site, brochures, information sheets, area maps, advertising
and signage.
Currently the business is run by two people
and one/two part time casual housemaids who are required at busy
times. The business is offered on a walk in walk out basis with
the current owners willing to be on hand for a period to ensure
a smooth transition.
The property is located at 6, Mt. Kooyong
Road, Julatten, Queensland
